There is an old saying: "No publicity is bad publicity." The reality is simpler. When you stand your ground, refuse to be intimidated, and consistently deliver results, eventually someone decides to attack your character instead of your work.

RISE Law Group has never built its reputation by being the loudest voice on the internet. We have built it in courtrooms. We have built it through results. We have built it by earning the trust of thousands of clients throughout Oregon.

Over the years, our Firm has been honored with numerous community and legal recognitions, including being voted Best of Southern Oregon – Gold Winner for Family Law multiple years, and we continue to earn referrals not only from former clients, but from fellow attorneys—including opposing counsel—who trust us with their most difficult and complex cases.

Our firm's success speaks for itself.  Our work has changed lives, protected families, defended businesses, and helped people through some of the most difficult moments they will ever face. That is the record we are proud of.

Recently, our Firm—and specifically attorney Jamie Hazlett—has become the target of a campaign of false accusations, personal attacks, and AI-generated videos designed by a disgruntled opposing party to intimidate Ms. Hazlett to withdraw from the case or settle along terms dictated by the opposing party.

Frankly… We are not surprised. For generations, women who speak with conviction, stand their ground, and refuse to be intimidated have been labeled with words designed to diminish rather than describe—"aggressive," "pitbull," "maneater," "difficult.”

We've seen those tactics before. At RISE Law Group, we do not apologize for being prepared. We do not apologize for being effective. And we certainly do not apologize for speaking truth to power.

Jamie Hazlett and the women of RISE Law Group have built their careers by standing up for clients, challenging powerful interests, and advocating fearlessly within the law. That work is not always popular, but popularity has never been our job. Justice is.

We believe there is an important conversation to be had about how accomplished women in positions of authority are often judged differently than their male counterparts. Strong advocacy is praised in some and criticized in others. We will not allow gendered stereotypes to define who we are or how we practice law.

We will not be intimidated. We will not be silenced. We will not lower ourselves to personal attacks, even when they are directed at us. We will continue doing what we have always done: speaking truth to power, standing beside our clients, and advocating with integrity, professionalism, and courage.

Our work speaks louder than labels. We'll keep showing up—every single day. When you consistently win difficult cases and refuse to back down, you don't just gain grateful clients. You also make enemies. We won't apologize for fighting hard. We won't apologize for standing up to powerful people. We certainly won't apologize for building a firm that has earned the respect of clients, judges, legal professionals, and our community so much so that our colleagues continue to refer us their “toughest” cases.

What we will do is continue to uphold the ethical standards that define our profession. Unlike those attacking us, we are bound by strict professional rules that prohibit us from discussing confidential client matters publicly—even when the accusations against us are demonstrably false. That is not weakness. That is integrity. Anyone can make accusations online. Not everyone is willing to live by the ethical standards required of licensed attorneys. We welcome honest feedback. In fact, we invite it. If we ever fall short of our own standards, we want to hear it directly. We will always make time to listen, to learn, and to improve. There is an enormous difference between constructive criticism and a coordinated campaign of harassment. We know the difference. So does our community.

For every person attempting to discredit our Firm, there are thousands of former clients who know exactly who we are because they have sat at the table next to us, walked into court beside us, and trusted us with the most important moments of their lives.

Our reputation was not built on Facebook. It was not built on AI-generated videos. It was not built by tearing other people down. It was built case by case, client by client, win by win, year after year.

We also believe deeply in the integrity of our judicial system. We respect our judges. We respect opposing counsel. We respect the rule of law. Disagreement belongs in the courtroom—not in campaigns of personal harassment and intimidation.
